SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
(Preliminary Candidate Interviews for Superintendent Position)
MINUTES

CALL TO ORDER
At 8:45 AM, Board President Natalie Hagglund called the meeting to order in the Board Room of the Administration & Resource Center located at the address noted above.

Under the new phasing approach used by the Governor's office, regions in Phase 3 have the option to hold meetings remotely or in-person, in a limited capacity, provided there is strict adherence to all measures established by the Governor's guidance. These requirements are found in the Governor's COVID-19 Miscellaneous Venue Guidance.

Community Members are encouraged to view the meeting/candidate interviews on livestream and can do so by using the following link to register:

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the livestream.

In compliance with the requirements established by the Governor's office, we have limited seating for the public who wish to attend in person. We will have an overflow room available which will be equipped with a monitor to allow guests to observe the livestream. To attend in person, please pre-register HERE. Seating is available on a first-serve basis, until we have reached capacity.

In order to conduct in-person meetings, the district is required to collect information solely for the purpose of assisting public health authorities with contact tracing, should contact tracing be necessary. This information is NOT subject to public disclosure or public records request; it will only be used for the purpose of contact tracing by public health officials, if necessary, and will be destroyed after 28 days.

Guests attending in person, will be asked to complete a Health Screening Attestation, participate in temperature screening, wear a proper face covering and maintain appropriate social distancing. To facilitate the arrival process, the health attestation form is available to download and complete before arriving at the meeting. Blank forms will also be available at the meeting.

Al Schreiber moved to approve the May 8, 2021 Special Meeting Agenda; seconded by Charlotte Murry.

BOARD PRESIDENT REVIEWS GUIDELINES FOR OBSERVERS
President Hagglund reviewed the agenda schedule, noting candidates' resumes and feedback forms are linked in the agenda. Director Hagglund shared the feedback forms will remain open for thirty minutes after the last interview. The audience was asked to remain seated during the interviews and it was noted questions would not be taken from the audience.

PRELIMINARY INTERVIEWS FOR SUPERINTENDENT CANDIDATE SEMI-FINALISTS
The Board conducted interviews of the preliminary candidates in the order listed below.

RECESS
At 11:37 Brian Beckley's interviewed concluded and President Hagglund called a recess for a lunch break.

RECONVENE
At 1:00 PM President Hagglund reconvened the meeting and interviews continued as listed below.

EXECUTIVE SESSION
A t 3:39 PM Natalie Hagglund recessed the Special Meeting and announced the Board would meet in Executive Session for two hours to further review the preliminary candidates' qualifications for public employment. Director Hagglund noted executive sessions are closed to the public and stated no further action will be taken.

RECONVENE
At 5:39 PM President Hagglund reconvened the Special Meeting.

ADJOURN
At 5:39 PM President Hagglund adjourned the Special Meeting.
