SPECIAL BOARD MEETING
MINUTES
The statutory waivers/suspensions of the Open Public Meeting Act (OPMA) cited in the Governor's Proclamation 20-28.15 have been extended, "...until the termination of the state of emergency pursuant to RCW 43.06.210, or until rescinded, whichever occurs first."
Under the new phasing approach used by the Governor's office, regions in Phase 3 have the option to hold meetings remotely or in-person, in a limited capacity, provided there is strict adherence to all measures established by the Governor's guidance. The May 14, 2021 Special Board Meeting was held remotely using the Zoom platform.

CALL TO ORDER
At 8:00 AM, Board President Natalie Hagglund called the special meeting to order.

Board Members Present: Natalie Hagglund, Miranda Evans, Ken Christoferson, Charlotte Murry, Al Schreiber

APPROVAL OF AGENDA
Ken Christoferson moved to approve the Agenda for the May 14, 2021 Special Meeting; seconded by Al Schreiber.
Aye: Al Schreiber, Charlotte Murry, Ken Christoferson, Miranda Evans, Natalie Hagglund
Passed - Unanimously
Natalie Hagglund recapped who the three finalists are for the superintendent position and the dates they visited the district to meet with various employee groups, the community, and the Board. President Hagglund thanked everyone who took the time to provide input. Each Board Member shared their appreciation for the search process, thanked community and staff for providing feedback, and thanked staff who helped with coordination.
SUPERINTENDENT SELECTION
President Hagglund called for a motion to select the next Superintendent of the Stanwood-Camano School District.
Charlotte Murry moved to select Dr. Deborah Rumbaugh as Superintendent of the Stanwood-Camano School District, effective July 1, 2021, subject to the successful negotiation of a contract and the successful completion of a comprehensive third party background check.
President Hagglund stated there is a motion from Board Member Charlotte Murry to select Dr. Deborah Rumbaugh as Superintendent of the Stanwood-Camano School District, effective July 1, 2021, subject to the successful negotiation of a contract and the successful completion of a comprehensive third party background check. President Hagglund asked for a second to the motion. The motion was seconded by Al Schreiber.
A roll call vote was taken:
Al Schreiber - Aye
Charlotte Murry - Aye
Ken Christoferson - Aye
Miranda Evans - Aye
Natalie Hagglund - Aye
The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN
There being no further business, President Hagglund adjourned the meeting at 8:12 AM.
