Authorization of Signatures Procedure
To promote efficiency and conserve public resources, electronic signatures may be used by District employees authorized to sign documents. The District encourages electronic transactions and the use of electronic signatures and recognizes these signatures as legally binding and equivalent in force and effect as a traditional signature created when a person physically marks a document with the intent to sign the record.
The superintendent is authorized to use a facsimile or other electronic signature or stamp. The use of the signature stamp for the superintendent shall be controlled by the superintendent or designee at all times.
Warrants. The superintendent is authorized to sign all district warrants by facsimile or electronic signature on behalf of the board.
Claim Forms. Staff employed by the district in the following designated positions are authorized to certify voucher or invoice claims against or for the district.
Auditing Officer. Fiscal Supervisor or Executive Director of Business Services or Superintendent
Checks. The school principal is designated as the custodian of each school building imprest and/or petty cash account. The superintendent is designated as the custodian of all district imprest and petty cash accounts. Staff employed by the district in the following designated positions are authorized to sign, on behalf of the board, checks drawn on any specific imprest and/or petty cash accounts:

Personnel Contracts. The superintendent or designee is authorized to sign personnel contracts and agreements of employment on behalf of the board by facsimile or electronic signature.
Negotiated Agreements. Negotiated agreements shall be signed for the district by the superintendent or designee.
