We value our students, staff, families, community members, and volunteers. You all understand the importance of our schools and support schools through levies and bonds to ensure that students receive the comprehensive programs and safe learning environment for student learning at all levels.

Comments from Citizens — Board Meetings

Before coming to the School Board with a specific school question, concern, or issue, we encourage you to discuss the issue first with the person closest to the situation such as a teacher, guidance counselor, school principal, and, if necessary, the appropriate person at the Administration & Resource Center.

Community e-Fliers

Stanwood-Camano School District allows community organizations and groups to submit informational fliers about clubs, sports, events, classes, and more for distribution into schools and online at our Community e-Fliers webpage.

Community Partnerships

There are many ways to get involved in your schools. Participation may include:

  • Providing classroom presentations, lectures, slide presentations
    hosting company tours

  • Tutoring or mentoring individual students or small groups

  • Assisting with job interview training for high school students

  • Hosting students for job shadowing

  • Providing advice on curriculum projects

  • Providing high school students with internships and work opportunities

  • Assisting with teacher/staff recognition programs

  • Donating resources and materials

  • Supporting employees who wish to volunteer in classrooms

  • Providing a place for students to give community service hours

  • Serving as a facilitator for a group activity

  • Reviewing high school senior projects each spring

  • Volunteering in a school

  • Improving student understandings of adult citizenship in the workplace
     


Employee Recognition Program

To show our appreciation for certificated and classified employees, the Board of Directors look forward to continuing the staff recognition program for the current school year. We are proud that our staff goes above and beyond for the children in the Stanwood-Camano School District.

Nominations for a Certificated or Classified Employee of the Month award are accepted September through March for recognition at the building level with board, administration, and sponsor participation. One certificated and one classified employee are selected monthly. All monthly award recipients will be considered for the Certificated and Classified Employee of the Year awards presented in May. Nominations are welcome from parents, community members, peers, administrators, and students.

Facilities Use

To schedule a facility rental, please contact the school directly where the facility is located regarding dates and times, then complete a Facility Use Application and related forms on our Facility Use webpage.

Stanwood-Camano School District follows federal law, Washington state law, and its policy and procedures to establish the process for requesting and accessing public records.
