Message from the Superintendent

Strategic Plan

This Strategic Plan serves as the compass for the Stanwood-Camano School District.

The plan is the outcome of a collaboration among Stanwood-Camano educators, families, community members, students, business and higher education, and civic organizations.

More than 150 people were actively involved in the planning process, with feedback from over 2,500 individuals total. The development of this plan was conducted between October 2021 and May 2022.

Our Strategic Plan is an expression of our community’s alignment on a common purpose, and a reaffirmation of Our Promise: Every student in the Stanwood-Camano School District is empowered to learn in an inclusive setting and is prepared for the future of their choice.

Delivering on that Promise demands the sustained commitment of the entire community to the disciplined implementation of our plan. I am convinced that we will rise to the challenge!

Ryan Ovenell,
Superintendent

Our complete Strategic Plan

Our Promise

Every student is empowered to learn in an inclusive setting and is prepared for the future of their choice.

Goal 1: Early Learning

WaKids uses an observational assessment tool to observe, collect documentation, and level children’s knowledge skills and abilities across the 6 areas of development and learning: Social-emotional, Physical, Cognitive, Language, Literacy, and Mathematics.

These data help inform state and district-level decisions about education policy and investments, and classroom decisions about individualized learning.

Goal 2: Engagement

This data shows a slow and steady rebound from the COVID-19 pandemic.

Goal 3: Achievement

Goal 4: Future-ready graduates
