There are plenty of people and accomplishments to celebrate as the 2022-23 school year comes to a close.

Here is a roundup of some large events to circle on your calendar:

Class of 2023 Signing Day 

6 p.m. May 15 at Stanwood High School

The Stanwood High community will gather to celebrate the Class of 2023 at their inaugural Signing Day Celebration — an opportunity to recognize students committing to pursue their education past high school. That includes students choosing to pursue a two-year degree, a four-year degree, a certificate or industry-recognized credential, transfering to a new institution, completing an apprenticeship, or enlisting in the military

Transition Night

6-8:30 p.m. May 17 at Stanwood High School

Our Transition Night event is an opportunity to learn about community resources and services that support individuals with special needs. Come prepared to ask questions and get them answered. Joining school district staff will be special guests with Arc of Snohomish County, Snohomish County, Developmental Disabilities Administration, Island County, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Redinger Law Offices, Stanwood-Camano Aktion Club, and Employment Vendors.

Dinner and a show!

5-7:30 p.m. May 18, 19 and 20 at Port Susan Middle School

Port Susan Middle School and Stanwood Middle School students are hosting a comedy murder mystery dinner theatre show of “Dinner at Eight, Dead by Nine” will be from. Tickets are $15 each.  Online ticket sales are available only to students/families enrolled in the school district (follow these directions). Community members can purchase tickets in-person from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the District Office. 

Tour the world at Culture Night

6-7:30 p.m. May 23 at Stanwood High School

This joyous event is jam-packed with colorful dances, significant songs, hands-on demonstrations, informative presentations, and tasty food samples representing various cultures. The fourth annual event, organized by the school’s Spanish and German Clubs, is free and open to everyone in the community.

Stanwood High choir concert

7 p.m. May 31 at Stanwood High School

Come watch the final choir concert of the school year — it’s free! The concert will be broadcast online on the school’s event streaming platforms.

Stanwood High School graduation

7 p.m. June 9 at Stanwood High stadium

About 280 Stanwood High seniors will graduate in front of classmates, family, and friends at Bob Larson stadium. Valedictorians will speak at the ceremony. The event requires a ticket. However, the graduation ceremony will be broadcast online on the school’s event streaming platforms.

Lincoln Hill High School graduation

6-8 p.m. June 13 at Stanwood High School

Lincoln Hill High School graduates about 30 students in front of classmates, family, and friends in the Performing Arts Center at Stanwood High. It’s a tradition at Lincoln Hill graduation for teachers to introduce each graduate and tell some touching and impactful stories about them as they head into the world. The graduation ceremony will be broadcast online on the school’s event streaming platforms.
