Air Quality

We're monitoring air quality for athletics
Posted on 08/21/2023

We are continuing to monitor the air quality in the Stanwood-Camano area as wildfire smoke conditions change.

To keep our student-athletes safe, we are following the state Department of Health’s revised edition of the Washington Children and Youth Activities Guide for Air Quality for schools to consult prior to allowing outdoor athletic practices.

Fall sports practices for football, girls soccer, boys tennis, volleyball, and cross country are underway.

The area's current air quality is available at airnow.gov.

We will continue to monitor the air quality and communicate any updates with our student-athletes and their families as needed.

Meanwhile, please consult the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency (Snohomish County) or the Northwest Clean Air Agency (Island County) for more information, tips, data, and more about local air quality issues.
