Debbie Norman (left) and Karol Steele (right) were surprised and honored to be named January’s Classified Employee of the Month and Teacher of the Month, respectively. The Board of Directors will publicly recognize Debbie and Karol at the March 18th board meeting.
Debbie serves as the secretary at Lincoln Hill High School and Lincoln Academy. She has been employed with the Stanwood-Camano School District for 17 years. Her career began as a para-eductor at Church Creek Elementary and she has worked on the playground, in resource rooms, and assisted teachers and students at Utsalady Elementary and Twin City Elementary before returning to Lincoln Hill in 2005. Karol Steele was hired in 1995 to teach health and physical education at Stanwood High School. She currently teaches health full-time. A former colleague, Doug Knight, nominated Karol for the award. To read Karol’s nomination, click here .
